Access Statement - Tantallon
The site consists of four public buildings, being the Reception Building and 4 no. Toilet/Shower buildings. There are also 70 no. static caravans positioned within the site and in addition pitches are available for mobile caravans and camping. The caravan site is located on the East Side of the town of North Berwick. Access to the site is gained off the north side of Tantallon Road with signage provided at entrance.
The Reception building is a single storey building with part stone wall finish and part timber wall finish with tiled pitched roof. The building contains the reception area, shop, games room, launderette, public telephone, disabled access WC/shower with child changing facility, ladies and gentlemen WC’s/showers. Level access is available to reception area; shop and games room with a gradual access ramp to toilets/showers and public telephone (emergency calls only). Staff are available at reception to assist where necessary. The rear disabled toilet/shower is spacious with grip rails provided and level internal access to the shower area.
All WC/Shower facilities are single storey buildings, mainly of stone/brick construction with tiled pitched roofs all containing ladies and gentlemen WC’s/showers and sinks. The Toilet building positioned at Bass Park on the East side of the site also provides a disabled WC and wet-room style shower to the rear of the building with a level external access, spacious toilet with grip rails provided and level internal access to shower area.
Positioned 160m from reception, accessed across tarmac, is our Caravan Holiday Home for hire designed to aid a disabled person. Facilities provided are ramped access to the entrance door, large internal door openings to allow free access for a wheelchair user and a larger bathroom area.
Access roads are provided within the site with lighting and signage.
There are three local taxi companies, based in North Berwick, all have facilities suitable for wheelchair users. Please advise them of your needs when booking a taxi.

There is a regular bus service from North Berwick town centre. This service carries on into Scotland’s Capital City of Edinburgh, stopping at some coastal towns and villages on the way. There are also some “Express” services which go directly into Edinburgh.
These services vary throughout the year, please ask in reception for a bus timetable. Assistance dogs are welcome on the Park and there is a “dog exercising” area to the rear of the park.
Large print Tariff information sheets are available from the park reception area where we can also provide you with a large print brochure.
Induction Loops are available in the reception area.

The Park has good coverage on most mobile phone networks.

We take the safety of our customers very seriously and therefore there is a 5mph speed limit throughout the Park with clearly marked speed bumps in several locations. The speed bumps are very gentle and their presence makes the parks safer for everyone.
