Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes we do, all of the allergen information is available on our menu via a QR code. Please feel free to contact us in advance on 01668 214 366 if you wish to discuss specific requirements.
Can we reserve a table in the restaurant?
We do not normally offer this, however if you have a group of 8 persons or more then please contact the main reception on 01668 214 366 and we can see if this is possible.
Can we pitch a tent next to our caravan/campervan?
No, the tent must be on a separate pitch and may not be next to the touring pitch.
Do you have pitches available with electric hook up?
Yes, all touring pitches at Waren come with access to an electric point. We also have serviced pitches with water and waste connections.
Do you have seasonal pitches?
No, these are not available at Waren, please however speak to our reception on 01668 214 366 if you are looking at staying longer than 14 nights and we can discuss any potential options for this.
Can Reception help with local bookings and recommendations?
Yes. The team can often provide advice on local attractions, restaurants, beaches, walking routes, and seasonal events.
Is there an emergency number to call when Reception us closed?
Any emergencies/queries out of Reception hours call the number in Red on the rear of the map you receive at check in. This number is 077 142 92997.
Is there a separate check in for tourers/tents
Yes, during busy hours there is a separate reception for tourers in the Touring Field. When you arrive you will see signage directing you to the correct check in.
What do we do if we arrive after office hours for check in?
We have a night warden on duty who can check you in. You will find him or contact details for him at the main reception.
What should I pack for my stay?
Comfortable walking shoes, a torch, binoculars for wildlife watching, weather-appropriate clothing, and beach gear if you plan to explore the coast.
Is the park suitable for wildlife enthusiasts?
Absolutely. The surrounding area is known for birdwatching, and the park’s nature trail provides additional opportunities to enjoy local wildlife.
What local attractions are close to the park?
Popular attractions include Budle Bay, Bamburgh Castle, and Holy Island. Information on all of these locations can be found on the Meadowhead Parks app or in the reception at Waren Caravan Park.
What are the quiet hours?
Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm until 7:00 am to ensure all guests can enjoy a peaceful stay.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes, the park has a heated splash pool that is typically open during the main holiday season.
Are you near any bus routes and do you have any timetables?
Yes, the two bus services are:
- X18 – Berwick – Newcasle
- 0418 – Wooler – Alnick
We have timetables for these services in the main reception but please be aware that these services can be infrequent.
Is breakfast available at Waren Caravan Park?
Yes, the Witch and Worm serves breakfast, making it easy to start your day before exploring Bamburgh and the surrounding area.
Are dogs allowed in the bar/restaurant?
Yes they are, please however ensure that they are kept on leads at all times.
Do you have details of walks and bike rides locally?
These can be found on and downloaded from our Meadowhead Parks app.
How far is it to the beach from Waren Caravan Park
The Caravan Park is a 10 minute walk from the nearest beach.
Do you allow BBQs?
Yes !! and we want you to enjoy using your BBQ at our park.
- If using a disposable BBQ, please keep it off the grass, picnic benches, decking or any other surface that can easily be damaged by heat transferring and can cause fire. Raise it up off the surface or use on a fire proof surface.
- Please ensure you dowse your disposable BBQ with cold water before disposing of it.
- Please dispose of any used BBQ charcoal in the metallic bines provided, do not put in the general waste.
- Never BBQ under cover or canopy and to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, do so in the open air.
- You can purchase disposable BBQ’s at the park shop.
- You can of course bring your own BBQ and BBQ charcoal is available to purchase from the park shop.
- We do not permit camp fires at any of our parks.
Can we pitch 2 tents on one pitch?
No each tent must be on a separate pitch
Are there attractions close to the park?
Yes. Nearby attractions include Belhaven Bay beach, John Muir Country Park, Dunbar Harbour, East Links Family Park and scenic coastal walking routes.
Is the beach close to the park?
Yes. The park is located close to the coast, with several beaches and coastal walking routes nearby, making it ideal for seaside breaks and family days out.
Are there places to eat near the park?
Yes. Dunbar has a good selection of cafés, pubs, fish and chip shops, restaurants and family-friendly dining options within a short drive.
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Yes. Dunbar has several supermarkets and convenience stores where you can stock up on groceries, camping supplies and everyday essentials.
How far is Dunbar town from the park?
Dunbar is approximately a 5–10 minute drive or a scenic coastal walk from the park. It offers supermarkets, independent shops, banks, pharmacies and local services.
What’s the difference between a Wigwam and a caravan?
At Belhaven Bay Caravan & Camping Park, Wigwams and caravans both offer comfortable stays, but they provide very different holiday experiences.
A Wigwam is a glamping cabin designed for a more outdoor-style break with added comfort. They are open-plan and feature a micro-kitchen, heating, TV, and en-suite WC facilities, making them ideal for a cosy, self-contained stay close to nature while still feeling like camping.
A caravan holiday home, on the other hand, offers a more traditional “home-from-home” experience. These are fully self-contained units with separate bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge area and bathroom, providing more space, privacy and all the comforts of a fully equipped holiday lodge.
In simple terms:
- Wigwams = compact, glamping-style cabins with a more outdoor, adventure feel
- Caravans = larger, fully self-contained accommodation with more space and privacy
Both options are on the same park, so guests can choose between a cosy glamping experience or a more traditional self-catering holiday, depending on how they like to stay.
What should I bring for a Wigwam stay?
We recommend bringing toiletries, food and drinks, plus warm clothing and waterproofs for outdoor activities. While Wigwams are well equipped, guests should still pack as they would for a self-catering break.
Are there shower and WC amenities nearby?
Yes. Modern shower amenities are located close to the Wigwam area and are available for guests to use throughout their stay. The Wigwams have WCs inside them.
Can groups book multiple Wigwams together?
Yes. Multiple Wigwams can be booked for family gatherings or group stays.
Are the Wigwams suitable for first-time campers?
Absolutely. Wigwams offer many of the benefits of camping while providing extra comfort, shelter and convenience, making them a great introduction to outdoor holidays.
What amenities are available for touring guests?
Touring guests have access to modern shower and WC amenities, dishwashing, recycling, grey water and chemical waste disposal, launderette facilities, Wi-Fi and on-site recreational amenities.
Can I charge an electric vehicle at my pitch?
No, this is not possible. If you ask at reception then we can detail all the local options for vehicle charging.
Can I bring an awning?
Yes, awnings are permitted on most touring pitches, subject to space and park guidelines.
What types of touring pitches are available?
We offer a range of touring pitches suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with electric hook-up options available.
Do touring pitches have sea views?
Most touring pitches at Belhaven Bay Caravan & Camping Park do not have direct sea views. The park is set just behind the dunes within John Muir Country Park, so many pitches are sheltered with views across the natural parkland rather than looking out to sea.
That said, the beach is directly accessible from the park, and it’s only a short walk over the dunes to enjoy wide sandy views of Belhaven Bay and the coastline.
Can I request an early check-in?
Early check-in may be available on selected dates, subject to availability. Please contact reception before your arrival on 01368 865 956
Can I arrive before my check-in time?
Of course, however access to your pitch or accommodation is unlikely to be available until the designated check-in time of: Camping & Touring 2pm and 4pm for Accommodation.
Do I need to check in at reception when I arrive?
Yes. All guests must check in at reception on arrival, where our team will provide any information you need for your stay.
What is the latest time we can arrive?
Once reception closes, we leave maps out for late arrivals on a noticeboard next to the reception. When you arrive collect your map and make your way to your pitch. If you are arriving late, please consider that other guests may be asleep and try to avoid disturbing them.
Can I book online on the day?
No, please book one day in advance. If you wish to book on the day, please either call the park direct on 01368 865956 to check availability. Please note that we cannot guarantee pitch availability as we do get very busy and it is best to book in advance where all our pitches are available online.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available across the park for general browsing and email use. Connection quality may vary depending on location.
Are accessible facilities available at Belhaven Bay Caravan Park?
Yes. Belhaven Bay Caravan Park offers a range of accessible facilities to support guests with additional mobility needs.
These include step-free access to key buildings such as reception and the main WC and shower block, as well as accessible toilet and shower facilities with support features. Level access routes are available in parts of the park, and accessible accommodation options are also available to book.
The reception building is also accessible, and staff are on hand to assist guests if required. If you have specific access requirements, we recommend contacting the park before your stay so suitable arrangements can be made.
Is there a shop on the park?
Yes. Reception has a small shop selling essentials such as snacks, drinks, ice creams, camping items and basic supplies.
If I am not on an electric hook up pitch, how can I charge my phone?
If you bring it to reception, then we will gladly plug it into our charging cabinet for you.
What hours are your laundry facilities open?
These are available 24 hours a day, you do however need top purchase tokens from reception while it is open.
What is there to do on rainy days?
Nearby Dunbar offers cafés, pubs, shops and attractions, while Edinburgh is also within easy reach for museums, galleries and indoor activities.
Can I visit nearby attractions easily?
Yes. Dunbar town, John Muir Country Park and East Links Family Park are all within a short drive, with Edinburgh accessible for day trips.
When is the best time to visit?
Every season offers something different. Spring and summer are ideal for outdoor activities, while autumn and winter provide quieter breaks and dramatic coastal scenery.
What is Bass Rock and can I see it from the park?
Bass Rock is a famous volcanic island in the Firth of Forth, known for its large gannet colony. It can be seen from many points around Dunbar and the surrounding coastline.
What should I pack for a stay at Belhaven Bay Caravan Park?
We recommend packing for changeable coastal weather. Waterproof jackets, warm layers, sturdy walking shoes and sun protection are all useful, even in summer.
What is special about the Belhaven Bay area?
The area is part of one of the sunniest and driest regions in Scotland and is known for its wide sandy beach, coastal scenery and peaceful natural surroundings.
What wildlife might I see locally?
The area is known for its birdlife, especially seabirds along the coast. You may also spot seals offshore and a variety of wildlife within John Muir Country Park.
What attractions are near the park?
Popular nearby attractions include John Muir Country Park, Dunbar Harbour, Dunbar Castle ruins, East Links Family Park and the coastal walks along the John Muir Way.
Is Belhaven Beach nearby?
Yes. Belhaven Bay beach is right on your doorstep and can be reached directly from the park. It’s a wide sandy beach within the John Muir Country Park, perfect for walking, surfing and wildlife spotting.
How far is Dunbar town from Belhaven Bay Caravan Park?
Dunbar is just a short drive from the park (around 5 minutes) or a scenic walk along the coast. It offers independent shops, cafés, restaurants and a historic harbour.
Is the play area supervised?
No. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children at all times. Dogs are not permitted. Please observe safety signage.
Can we have a campfire during our holiday?
Sadly not, our rules do not allow this for safety reasons. You can enjoy a BBQ at your pitch provided the BBQ is raised off the ground.
Do you offer secure bicycle storage?
Unfortunately, not, if however, you are concerned about this then please speak to us as we may be able to provide a solution. We always recommend that bikes are locked up securely and advise that removing the front wheel and storing this inside will deter most thieves.
Is the Caravan Park lit at night?
We always advise that you carry a torch (smartphone), there is low level lighting, but it can be dark at night as we reduce light pollution.
Do you have a defibrillator on park?
Yes, we do. This can be found in the phone booth at the front of reception. This room is open 24hours a day.
How many guests can your caravans accomodate?
A two bedroom caravan can sleep up to 6 guests, Master Bedroom, Twin bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The 3-bedroom caravans have an additional twin bedroom therefore can sleep up to eight.
Do you provide hand soap?
Yes, we do, this will be in your caravan when you arrive along with a starter pack of washing up liquid, cloths, tea, coffee and biscuits.
Do the caravans have a sea view?
Our caravans are only a short walk from the beach access. They do not however benefit from a sea view.
What is the minimum length of stay?
The minimum length of stay is two nights, and you can commence your holiday on any day of the week? You can stay for any length of stay up to 14 nights.
Do I need to bring any bedding or towels.
No, definitely not. Everything you need can be found in your holiday caravan. If you are staying for longer than 7 nights we will also offer a change of towels and bed linen
Is there access to a kitchen?
Yes, we have a campers kitchen at Belhaven Bay with kettles, microwaves, fridges and washing up facilities.
I’ve booked a pitch with electric hook up, what do I need to bring.
You need a camping hook up with a 16amp plug. This needs to be at least 15meters long to ensure that it can reach to the power point.
How many people can I have staying on my pitch?
Each pitch is limited to 6 people, if you are part of a group, you can book multiple pitches and request that these are together.
Do you accept roof tents?
Yes. We recommend that a roof tent is booked into a tent pitch.

Can I cook in a Wigwam?
Wigwams are designed for simple glamping stays. Guests can make use of the nearby campers’ kitchen and dining facilities available on the park.
Are pets allowed in the Wigwams?
Selected Wigwams may be pet-friendly. Please check at the time of booking for the latest pet accommodation options.
What should I bring for a Wigwam stay?
We recommend bringing towels, toiletries, outdoor clothing suitable for the weather and any personal items you may need. Check your booking confirmation for details of any bedding included.

Can I park next to my Shepherd Hut?
Parking is available close to the Shepherd Huts, making arrival and unloading straightforward.
Is bedding provided?
Yes. Bed linen and bedding are provided, so you can arrive and relax without needing to bring your own.
Do Shepherd Huts have their own bathroom?
Yes. The Shepherd Huts include private en-suite shower and toilet facilities for your convenience.
How many people can stay in a Shepherd Hut?
Our Shepherd Huts are designed for up to two guests, making them ideal for romantic breaks, city escapes and peaceful countryside retreats.
What happens when we arrive late?
If you have made a booking and paid In full we will arrange for you to arrive after the reception has closed. On arrival you will see a white map pinned to the reception door with your name on it, please pick it up and open the map following the instructions to your pitch. We would appreciate that you consider your neighbours and keep the noise down to a minimum.

Is reception wheelchair friendly?
Yes, there is a small lip to access the reception and a ramp is available, please ask.
What services are on offer in reception?
We offer check in and check out for touring, motorhomes, campervans, RV’s, trailer tents, roof top tents, camping, Holiday Homes, Glamping and Shepherd Huts, along with bookings and guest queries, tourist information, local information, coffee and tea, Calor gas exchange and shop services.
What time is reception open?
The reception opens daily from 08:00 hrs
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Wi-Fi is available throughout the park for a small charge. There is also Wi-Fi available free of charge within the Stable Bar.
Is there food available on site?
We have an on site shop that sells a selection of fresh food, bread, milk, frozen food, ice creams, sweets, crisps, coffee, food to go, soft drinks and alcohol. There is also further selection of local food at the farm shop at the garden centre just 300m from the park entrance.
Is there cash point on the park?
No, there is no cashpoint on the park, although we do accept card and contactless payments in our shop, reception and bar and restaurant.
What facilities do you have on the park?
Outwith the touring facilities, there is a bar & restaurant which is open all year, reception, on site licensed shop, games room, campers kitchen, Dishwashing areas, BBQ hut for hire, childrens playground and launderette
Do you have electric charging points?
No, the nearest charging points are located at The Mortonhall Garden Centre 300metres from the park entrance.
What should I pack for my stay at Mortonhall Caravan Park?
We recommend packing for all types of Scottish weather. Waterproof clothing, comfortable walking shoes and warm layers are useful throughout the year, even during the summer months.
Can I receive deliveries while staying at the park?
If you are expecting a delivery, please contact reception in advance so they can advise on the best arrangements.
Is Mortonhall suitable for visiting during the Edinburgh Festivals?
Absolutely. Mortonhall is a popular base during the summer festival season, offering easy access to Edinburgh while providing a quieter place to relax at the end of the day.
Where can I charge my phone?
We not allow charging around in the park facilities, please either charge at your pitch if it has electric, alternatively we do have a charging locker at reception where for a small charge of £2.00 we will charge your phone/tablet/charging battery, laptop for you.
Are there walks nearby?
Yes, we are set on a country estate, set within the city boundaries. There are miles of dog friendly walks of differing lengths around the estate with stunning views of the city. Why not try starting off by a tranquil walk around our arboretum!
Are there historical features on the estate?
Yes. The estate is home to historic buildings, mature trees and landscape features that reflect its long heritage and character.
What makes Mortonhall Estate unique?
The estate combines the tranquillity of a rural country setting with convenient access to Edinburgh, allowing guests to enjoy both countryside and city experiences during their stay.
Is the estate suitable for dog walking?
Yes. The extensive grounds provide plenty of space for exercising dogs. We ask that dogs are kept under control and that owners clean up after their pets.
What wildlife can be seen on the estate?
Guests may spot a variety of wildlife including squirrels, rabbits, woodland birds and other native species that inhabit the estate grounds.
Is the estate open to park guests?
Yes. Guests staying at Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park can enjoy the estate’s grounds, woodland walks and open spaces during their stay.
Can I go wild swimming in Edinburgh?
Yes, the main areas to wild swim are Portobello beach, Wardie Bay at Granton, Bonaly reservoir
What is there within 2 miles of the park?
Why not try the Stable Bar & Restaurant open daily for breakfasts, coffee, lunch, dinner and drinks, the award winning The Mortonhall Garden Centre and Farm shop including café, Hillend Ski Centre including the new toboggan run, Mortonhall Golf Course (Private), Braids Hill Golf Course (Public), Braids Hill Golf Driving Range, Horse riding at Tower Farm Stables.
Can I take my car into the city?
The city has a low emission zone around the city centre which restricts various vehicles, please check beforehand on https://vehicleemissionscheck.service.gov.scot/. For information Mortonhall Caravan Park is outside the LEZ.
Does Edinburgh have a beach?
Yes, Edinburgh has a popular, cosmopolitan at Portobello with a fabulous beach and promenade, just 7 miles from the park.
How far is the city centre?
From the park to the Princes Street in the city is only 4 miles
How do I report a maintenance or safety concern?
Please report any hazards, damage or safety concerns to reception as soon as possible so they can be addressed promptly.
Are CCTV cameras in operation on the park?
Yes. CCTV operates in selected areas of Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park to help promote the safety and security of guests, visitors and staff.
Cameras are located in key public areas and are used in accordance with data protection regulations. CCTV footage may be monitored and reviewed when necessary for security, safety and incident investigation purposes.
If you have any questions about CCTV or data privacy, please contact reception for further information.
Is the park well-lit at night?
Main roads, facilities and communal areas are illuminated, but guests may find it useful to carry a torch when moving around the park after dark.
Is there a speed limit within the park?
Yes. For the safety of all guests, drivers must observe the park speed limit and take extra care around pedestrians, cyclists and children.
Does the park have a bar?
Yes. The Stables includes a fully licensed bar serving a range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
Is breakfast available on-site?
Yes. Breakfast is served at The Stables Bar & Restaurant, making it easy to start your day before exploring Edinburgh and the surrounding area.
Are there self-catering facilities available?
Yes. Touring and camping guests have access to a campers’ kitchen, dining area, dishwashing facilities and wash-up areas.
Are there local takeaways nearby?
Yes, as we are in the city there is a large selection of takeaways nearby that will deliver. Please note that deliveries can only be dropped off outside reception and must not enter the park.
Are dogs allowed in the Stable Bar & Restaurant?
Yes, well behaved dogs are allowed. We even have a menu for your dog!
Can I get a bus from the airport?
Yes, there is number 18 bus service that operates from the airport and stops right outside the park, please look out for the stop called Mortonhall Gate and allow one hour.
Is there a day ticket option?
Yes the local bus company www.lothianbuses.com have an adult and child day ticket option which will take you upto the last day bus back to the park at 23:40 hrs from the city. There is also a family ticket option for two adults and up to three children. Alternatively there is also a day and night ticket after 18:00. All day ticket, day night and family tickets are totally unlimited and include the tram service ( so long as you do not go out to the airport on the tram. The adult day ticket can be purchased at reception.
When is the last bus
The last day bus back from the city leaves Lothian Road opposite the Caledonian Hotel at 23:40 hrs, perfect for when the Edinburgh Tattoo in August finishes late! There are also buses back to the park after midnight this is a separate service and runs every hour until 04:00 hrs
How can I pay on the bus?
All the buses accept card payments. If you pay by cash though you will need the right money.
Can I get into the city by bus?
Yes, absolutely we have an award winning bus service that runs from outside the park into the city every 10 minutes and will take you right onto Princes Street. The journey will take between 30 – 40 minutes and will link up with the tram service.
Do I need to bring towels
No, we provide 1 x hand towel and 1 x bath towel for each person declared in the booking.
What is included in the holiday home?
The holiday homes for hire are like a home from home!

Can I bring along a dog?
Yes, you can bring along up to 2 dogs in a small number of our holiday homes as a chargeable extra. We do not accept dogs that are on the Dangerous Dogs list.
Can I stay longer than 14 nights?
Yes, we will consider stays longer than 14 nights on application to the park. Please email the park in advance.

Yes. Mortonhall Caravan & Camping Park is open throughout the year, making it a great base for exploring Edinburgh in every season.
Is there a campers’ kitchen?

Are shower and WC amenities available?
Yes. Modern shower and WC amenities are available for all camping guests. The park continually upgrades its amenities and includes spacious wash-up and campers’ kitchen facilities.
What types of camping pitches are available at Mortonhall?
We offer a range of camping pitches to suit different needs, including grass pitches and pitches with electric hook-up. Whether you’re travelling with a small tent or a larger family tent, there are options available.
Who maintains the pitch at my caravan?
Where the pitch is grass we will cut the main body of the grass, we would however request that you keep the grass trimmed around the very edge of your caravan.
Do I need to insure my own caravan?
Yes, it is important that you have insurance and that this is on a ‘New for Old’ basis. We can provide you with a quote through our group insurance scheme.
Do I pay for gas and electricity that I use at my own caravan?
Yes. Electricity is paid for on a ‘Pay as you go’ system. Gas usage is invoiced annually.
Can I operate any commercial business from my caravan holiday-home?
No, our operating licence is for Holidays only – you cannot register your business at this address. You cannot use the caravan park address for personal postal mail.
What is the length of the season for occupying my caravan at Tantallon park?
Tantallon Park is open from 1st March until 5th January, we are then closed for around 8 weeks annually.
How long can I keep a caravan holiday-home at the park on its pitch?
When buying a new Caravan Holiday Home you will be granted a Licence Agreement for occupying a pitch for 15 years.
When are pitch fees and rates charged each annum when is full payment due by?
Invoices are sent out in December each year and payment is required by the beginning of April.
Are you members of a relevant trade association? How long have you been members?
We are active members of Holiday & Residential Parks Association (HARPA) and have been for over 30 years.

What attractions are nearby?
Popular nearby attractions include Tantallon Castle, Bass Rock and the Scottish Seabird Centre to name but a few. The area is also known for its superb beaches, wildlife and coastal scenery.
Is the beach close to the park?
Yes. The park is located close to the coast, with several sandy beaches and coastal walking routes nearby, making it ideal for seaside breaks and family days out at the beach.
Are there restaurants and cafés within walking distance?
Yes. North Berwick offers a wide range of fabulous cafés, restaurants, takeaways and traditional pubs, many of which are within a short walk or drive of the park.
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Yes. A Tesco supermarket is located close to the park entrance, making it easy to pick up groceries, essentials and supplies during your stay. Also a fuel service station and EV charging stations.
How far is North Berwick town centre from the caravan park?
North Berwick town centre is approximately a 15–20 minute walk from the caravan park, where you’ll find independent shops, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and the harbour to name but a few.
Is there a Wigwammer’s Kitchen?
Yes, next to the wigwams we have a shared kitchen space with cooking hobs, kettles, toasters, fridge and freezer space.
What’s the difference between a Wigwam and a caravan?
A Wigwam offers a unique glamping experience, combining the fun of camping with added comfort and shelter. Unlike a caravan, a Wigwam is a single open-plan wooden cabin with sleeping space, heating and basic amenities, while guests use the nearby shared shower, toilet and kitchen facilities.
Caravans provide more traditional self-catering accommodation, typically including separate living, sleeping and kitchen areas, along with private bathroom facilities.
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure with a cosy twist, a Wigwam is a great choice. If you prefer more space and home-from-home facilities, a caravan may be the better option.
Are there shower and WC amenities nearby?
Yes. Modern shower and WC amenities are located close to the Wigwam area and are available for guests to use throughout their stay. The Wigwams do not have WC’s inside them.
Can groups book multiple Wigwams together?
Yes. Multiple Wigwams can be booked for family gatherings or group stays/celebrations. A BBQ hut seating up to 12 people is available for hire and may be included with certain group bookings deal.
Are the Wigwams suitable for first-time campers?
Absolutely. Wigwams offer many of the benefits of camping while providing extra comfort, shelter and convenience, making them a great and very cosy introduction to outdoor holidays.
What touring amenities are available for touring guests?
Touring guests have access to modern shower and WC amenities, dishwashing, recycling, grey water and chemical waste disposal, launderette facilities, Wi-Fi and on-site recreational amenities.
Can I charge an electric vehicle at my pitch?
No, this is not possible. If you ask at reception then we can detail all of the local options for vehicle charging. There are vehicle charging options within a 5-minute drive of the caravan park.
Can I bring an awning?
Yes, awnings are permitted on most touring pitches, subject to space and touring park guidelines.
What types of touring pitches are available?
We offer a range of touring pitches suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with electric hook-up options available.
Do touring pitches have sea views?
The majority of touring pitches enjoy open views across the surrounding countryside, with selected areas of the park offering enhanced views towards the coast and the sea. If having a sea view is important to your stay, please let us know when booking and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request and subject to pitch availability.
Can I request an early check-in?
Early check-in may be available on selected dates, subject to availability. Please contact reception by telephone 0160 893 348 and before your arrival.
Can I arrive before my check-in time?
Of course, however access to your pitch or accommodation is unlikely to be available until the designated check-in time of: Camping & Touring 2pm and 4pm for Accommodation.
Do I need to check in at reception when I arrive?
Yes. Between the hours of 9am and 5pm, all arriving guests must check in at reception and where our team will welcome you, answer questions and provide information.
What is the latest time of day we can arrive?
You can arrive anytime…when reception is closed, we leave maps out for late arrivals on a noticeboard next to the reception. When you arrive collect your map and make your way to your pitch. If you are arriving late, please consider that other guests may be asleep and try to avoid disturbing them.
Can I book online on the day?
No, please book at least one day in advance. If you wish to book on the day, please either call the park direct on 01620 893 348 to check availability. Please note that we cannot guarantee pitch availability thus it is best to book in advance where all our pitches are available online.
How do we book the BBQ Hut? and how many people can it accommodate?
The BBQ Hut comfortably accommodates 10-12 people and costs £45 to book for an evening (5 Hours). Call us on 01620 893 348 to reserve it during your stay.
Does the Caravan Park have accessible toilet and shower facilities?
Yes, we have fully accessible facilities in both the male and female sections of our main toilet and showers amenities. There is also an accessible WC/Shower room at the rear of the camping park reception.
Is there an ATM so that we can withdraw money to use in the Games Arcade?
The nearest ATM is only a short walk away at Tesco supermarket. There is a change machine in the games room.
If I am not on an electric hook up pitch, how can I charge my phone?
If you bring it to reception, then we will gladly plug it into our charging cabinet for you. We do so at your own risk.
What hours are your laundry facilities open?
Open 24 hours a day, you do however need to purchase tokens from reception while reception is open between 9am and 5pm.
Is North Berwick suitable for families?
Absolutely. With beaches, boat trips, wildlife attractions, play areas and family-friendly restaurants, North Berwick is a popular destination for family holidays.
What is there to do on rainy days?
Visitors can explore local cafés, shops, museums, family attractions and indoor activities in North Berwick and the surrounding area. We often have a range of discount vouchers for attractions to share with you…just ask upon arrival
When is the best time to visit?
Every season offers something different. Spring and summer are ideal for outdoor activities, while autumn and winter provide quieter breaks and dramatic coastal scenery.
What is Bass Rock and can I see it from the park?
Bass Rock is a famous volcanic island in the Firth of Forth, known for its large gannet colony. It can be seen from many points around North Berwick and the surrounding coastline, including the park.
Is the park suitable for visiting without a car?
Yes. Many local attractions are within walking distance, and North Berwick offers regular rail and bus connections to Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
Can I pay for bus journeys by card or phone or do I need to have cash?
All of the local buses accept contactless payments making it very easy to use public transport while you are on holiday.
Are there public transport links to Edinburgh?
There is an hourly train service from North Berwick into the centre of Edinburgh. A bus service also however journey time to Edinburgh can take a bit longer.
We were going to stay whilst visiting the Scottish Open Golf, is there a shuttle bus to the course?
All of the Edinburgh buses go straight past the entrance to the golf course, there are 3 of these every hour and the bus stop is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Tantallon Caravan Park.
Is there a swimming pool nearby?
There is a Leisure Centre in North Berwick approx. 1 mile from the camping park and that has a swimming pool. 20 minutes drive to Dunbar the leisure centre pool is larger and also has slides and a wave machine.
How long does it take to walk into North Berwick
From the Caravan Park it takes around 25 minutes to walk into the town centre. This walk takes you along the coast to the harbour.
Do you have CCTV coverage of the park?
Yes, CCTV is in operation throughout the holiday park for the safety and security of our guests and staff.
Is the play area supervised?
No. Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children at all times. The play area is enclosed with a fence and gate. Dogs are not permitted. Please observe safety signage.
Do you offer secure bicycle storage?
Unfortunately, not, if however, you are concerned about this then please speak to us as we may be able to provide a solution. We always recommend that bikes are locked up securely and advise that removing the ‘quick release’ front wheel and storing this inside will deter most thieves.
Can we have a campfire during our holiday?
Sadly not, our rules do not allow this for safety reasons. You can enjoy a BBQ at your pitch provided the BBQ is raised off the ground.
Do you have a defibrillator on park?
Yes, we do. This can be found in the laundry room at the rear of reception. This room is open 24hours a day.
How many guests can a caravan holiday-home accommodate?
A two bedroom caravan can sleep up to six guests, Master Bedroom, Twin bedroom and a double sofa bed in the lounge. The three bedroom caravan have an additional twin bedroom therefore can sleep up to eight.
Do you provide hand soap?
Yes, we do, this will be in your caravan when you arrive along with a starter pack of washing up liquid, cloths, tea, coffee and biscuits.
Do the caravans have a sea view?
Our caravans are only a short walk from the beach access. They do not however benefit from a direct sea view.
What is the minimum length of stay?
The minimum length of stay is two nights, and you can commence your holiday on any day of the week? You can stay for any length of stay up to 14 nights.
Do I need to bring any bedding or towels.
No, definitely not. Everything you need can be found in your holiday caravan. If you are staying for longer than 7 nights we will also offer a change of towels and bed linen
Is there access to a camper’s kitchen?
Unfortunately, not, we do however have spaces for food prep and washing up.
I’ve booked a pitch with electric hook up, what do I need to bring.
You need a camping hook up with a 16amp plug. This needs to be at least 15meters long to ensure that it can reach to the power point.
How many people can I have staying on my pitch?
Each pitch is limited to 6 people, if you are part of a group you can book multiple pitches and request that these are together.
Do you accept roof tents?
Yes. We recommend that a roof tent is booked into a tent pitch.
Can we use a bbq on our holiday?
Yes!! and we want you to enjoy using your BBQ at our park.
- If using a disposable BBQ, please keep it off the grass, picnic benches, decking or any other surface that can easily be damaged by heat transferring and can cause fire. Raise it up off the surface or use on a fire proof surface.
- Please ensure you dowse your disposable BBQ with cold water before disposing of it.
- Please dispose of any used BBQ charcoal in the metallic bines provided, do not put in the general waste.
- Never BBQ under cover or canopy and to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, do so in the open air.
- You can purchase disposable BBQ’s at the park shop.
- You can of course bring your own BBQ and BBQ charcoal is available to purchase from the park shop.
- We do not permit camp fires at any of our parks.
