Wigwam Holidays

What’s the difference between a Wigwam and a caravan?

At Belhaven Bay Caravan & Camping Park, Wigwams and caravans both offer comfortable stays, but they provide very different holiday experiences.

A Wigwam is a glamping cabin designed for a more outdoor-style break with added comfort. They are open-plan and feature a micro-kitchen, heating, TV, and en-suite WC facilities, making them ideal for a cosy, self-contained stay close to nature while still feeling like camping.

A caravan holiday home, on the other hand, offers a more traditional “home-from-home” experience. These are fully self-contained units with separate bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge area and bathroom, providing more space, privacy and all the comforts of a fully equipped holiday lodge.

In simple terms:

  • Wigwams = compact, glamping-style cabins with a more outdoor, adventure feel
  • Caravans = larger, fully self-contained accommodation with more space and privacy

Both options are on the same park, so guests can choose between a cosy glamping experience or a more traditional self-catering holiday, depending on how they like to stay.
