The Edinburgh Science Festival 5 – 20 Apr 2025

The Edinburgh Science Festival was the world’s first such festival when it launched in 1989. Today it remains the UK’s largest Science Festival and for 2 weeks each year – centred around the Easter break – offers a range of amazing experiences for all ages, with a programme of exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, screenings and discussions between some of the world’s foremost scientific minds.

The Festival’s annual programme takes over venues across the city, including galleries, museums, public spaces and more. In doing so, it delivers loads of fun, fascinating activities alongside serious and provocative science debate on subjects ranging from quantum physics to environmental ethics and everything in between (and beyond)!

Children (and grown-ups too) will love the interactive exhibitions and workshops where they can get their hands dirty while learning about the science behind spaceships, weather, dinosaurs, the human body and much, much more. Trained science educators will blow their minds with demonstrations of just how amazing the world can be. Meanwhile, adults can look forward to a range of entertaining evening events including discussions, debates, performances, food and drink and hands-on experiences – plus, lots of audience involvement too

Love this place such easy access to Edinburgh and a lovely garden centre right on your doorstep.

Best place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. Especially when arriving from south. Great transport links. Nice walks. Very safe site. No traffic noise from nearby roads. Good recycling facilities. Meet people from all over the world

Excellent location for Edinburgh fringe festival.

We had had a long journey and when we got to the caravan we were so pleasantly surprised at the superb quality and cleanliness of the caravan. We have stayed at many caravan parks over the years but this one was completely the best we’ve ever stayed at for all the right reasons. We looked forward to coming back to the caravan every night and were very comfortable and at home there. The man at reception was very helpful and friendly and we just couldn’t have wanted for more. As we were leaving the Saturday we were already planning when we would be coming back. Our daughter has epilepsy so its important that she was happy and relaxed and she enjoyed every second of our holiday, so thank you so very much and we have recommended you to everyone we know. Absolutely brilliant caravan park all round.

Beautiful setting, so clean with a variety of wildlife. Loved the two bulls In the front fields. Really great place. We live in Australia so very nice to see rain and green fields.

In a lovely location, great park, very well kept, very good bus service to city centre, we would come back again, our stay was very enjoyable though too short.

We visit from Sydney Australia and whenever we go to U.K. We make a point of going to Edinburgh and Edinburgh equals Morton Hall. Love it. Especially the pub and restaurant. Thanks for a great stay and great memories.

A lovely stay at the site, very helpful friendly staff and good bus services in to Edinburgh… thank-you for having us.

Staff so friendly and efficient, always love our stay at Mortonhall, so convenient for travel to city.

Overall experience and stay at the park was brilliant! Will definitely be returning!

Excellent staff very friendly and helpful, lovely clean facilities, great enjoyable place to visit, couldn’t fault Mortonhall.
